About us
David Barratt and Simon Canniford launched the company of Barratt & Canniford in 1986. Both men have a trade background in brickwork and carpentry providing them with an excellent foundation with which to start the company.
With their enthusiasm and adherence to quality on contracts, the business soon grew throughout Devon and Somerset, maintaining a working distance of 25 miles from Taunton. Contracts ranged from small domestic type extensions to large nursing homes and surgeries. Work also included schools and refurbishment for the local authorities Taunton Deane Borough Council and Somerset County Council.
Among their "Projects of Pride" recently completed are the new cycle centre at James Street, Taunton, The new surgery at Churchinford and for Spillers of Chard the new Aga Show Centre, amongst many more.
Since the limited company was formed in 1988 David Barratt was established as Finance Director with Simon Canniford Contracts Director. Later in 1993 Geoff Barratt who was acting as Estimator was awarded Directorship.
Barratt & Canniford Ltd have since undertaken some 28 Nursing Homes contracts in either extension, refurbishment or new build and recently Industrial Type Development such as Cook Way, Bindon Road. |
